Parents As Teachers

Why Parents As Teachers

As a parent, you are your child’s first teacher and your home is your child’s first classroom.

Your baby begins learning at birth. Parents As Teachers can help you lay a strong foundation for your child’s future success in school.

PAT is offered at no cost to all interested parents, throughout pregnancy until their child enters kindergarten, within the School of the Osage School District.

Program Services

  • Personalized home visits by a certified parent educator, specially trained in child development and eager to help you give your child a great start.
  • Group meetings…Parents come to a central location to meet other parents, get information on parenting topics, and participate in fun and interesting activities.
  • Screenings…We provide a yearly opportunity for you to see where your child’s progress fits in with standardized measures of child development
