School of the Osage Student wins Holiday Light Display Contest
From The Lake Today:

The Lake Holiday Lights Drive Thru Light Park Committee has announced the winner of the annual student display design contest from School of the Osage.

Samantha Hedrick’s design of a stocking filled with presents was selected for a new display at the Light Park for the 2009 season.   In all there were 35 designs submitted to the committee from School of the Osage seventh and eighth graders.  The entries were then narrowed down to ten for the final voting process.  Carissa Pike came in second and the third place selection was by Tyler Perkins.

Welders from PMG – Lake Ozark Vacations will bring the drawing to life and it will be on display at the Lake Holiday Light Drive Thru Park upon completion, and will remain a permanent fixture in future years of the Light Park.

Karen Medders-Bowman, committee member shared, “It is always so exciting to receive the school entries and see firsthand the creativity the students have with the displays they create year to year.  Then to actually bring those ideas to life through a permanent display in the Light Park is a great way to keep the community involved in its park!”

The Lake Holiday Lights Drive Thru Park will be open daily weekdays from 5:30 to 9 p.m. from Nov. 21 through Jan. 2, and until 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday evenings.  For more information about the park visit www.lakeholidaylights.com or if you would like to get involved and volunteer at the park contact either Trish Creach or Michelle Cook at the Lake Area Chamber of Commerce at 573-964-1008.
