LIBRARY POLICIES

LIBRARY HOURS

7:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., Monday through Friday, when school is in session.

SERVICES FOR STUDENTS

Each class is scheduled for a 45 minute library period weekly.  Teachers may schedule additional visits as needed.
These times must be scheduled with the librarian in advance. With teacher permission, students may visit the library during any of the scheduled checkout times to exchange books.  Students are encouraged to visit the library on a regular basis.
SERVICES FOR PARENTS

Parents are invited to visit the library with their children before or after school or during their children's library period.
Parents-As-Teachers and other parent and community groups are welcome to schedule activities with the librarian.

CIRCULATION GUIDELINES

The checkout period for books is one rotation.  Second grade students may check out three books, first grade students may check out two books, and kindergarten students may check out one book.
Periodicals, reference materials, and newspapers may be checked out at the beginning of the day for use in the classroom and are due at the end of the day.
When books are overdue, notices will be distributed to classroom teachers who will inform students.
Audiovisual materials are available for staff checkout only and should be returned promptly.
No fines are charged for overdue items; however, students may be denied checkout privileges if overdue items are not returned.
If an item is lost or damaged so that it may no longer be used, the student must pay the replacement cost.
Money paid for lost items that are later found will be refunded.
